QUICK CV OVERVIEW
Last updated in August 2009
My background is quite diverse including a Master's Degree in English Literature and Civilisation and further courses in ICT. English has been my working language for many years in various countries and diverse positions.
I first started as a teacher and lecturer of French and English as Foreign Languages for 6 years at college and university levels (France, UK and USA), as well as in private language schools (France).
Curious about the private sector I then worked for 3 years for an international IT PR consultancy (Germany and The Netherlands) in charge of research, training, IT support, interviews, case studies, relations with the media.
My interest in and, familiarity with IT coupled with good communication skills and a background in humanities opened me the doors of the UN system. I worked as Webmaster for UNV HQ for 4 years (Germany) in charge of all web sites (design and contents management) as well as in-house IT training.
Later I decided to go further in development work and took on a UN Volunteer assignment as IT Training specialist in a youth center in the Himalayan region. Following this enriching assignment I did some consultancy work for UNDP, UNICEF and UNV in Bhutan (IT training and web site design, logframes and workshop facilitation).
Following various consultancy works including a 3-month working stay in Nepal with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), I went back to Bhutan at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dept. of Tourism, where I was in charge of the French language programme.
After that I moved to Laos to take a UNV Programme Officer position where I was in charge of the programme and of 65 national and international UN volunteers in the country.
In 2007 I moved to Afghanistan. I first worked for UNFPA conducting a capacity bulding needs assessment and writing a capacity building strategy for the upcoming 2008 Census operation. This was followed by another consultancy assignment with the UN-Habitat Youth Empowerment Project as Youth Training Advisor. I left Afghanistan in April 2008.
Between June 2008 and May 2009 I lived once more in Nepal where I did some consultancy work in communication material development (NGOs, UNV, Private Sector) and engaged in Art4D activities with local artists.
In May 2009 I travelled to Northern Thailand on the Thai-Burmese border where I assisted a small NGO working with illegal migrants in designing a promotional brochure and where I ran some Art4D activities with migrant children.
From June to August 2009 I went to a new territory: Africa. Guinea Bissau was preparing for anticipated presidential elections following the murder of their President in March of the same year. I worked as an adviser to the president of the regional electoral commission of the Sector Auronomous of Bissau, the largest constituency in the country.
