  • My background is quite diverse including a Master's Degree in English Literature and Civilisation and further courses in ICT. English has been my working language for many years in various countries and diverse positions.
  • I first started as a teacher and lecturer of French and English as Foreign Languages for 6 years at college and university levels (France, UK and USA), as well as in private language schools (France).
  • Curious about the private sector I then worked for 3 years for an international IT PR consultancy (Germany and The Netherlands) in charge of research, training, IT support, interviews, case studies, relations with the media.
  • My interest in and, familiarity with IT coupled with good communication skills and a background in humanities opened me the doors of the UN system. I worked as Webmaster for UNV HQ for 4 years (Germany) in charge of all web sites (design and contents management) as well as in-house IT training.
  • Later I decided to go further in development work and took on a UN Volunteer assignment as IT Training specialist in a youth center in the Himalayan region. Following this enriching assignment I did some consultancy work for UNDP, UNICEF and UNV in Bhutan (IT training and web site design, logframes and workshop facilitation).
  • Following various consultancy works including a 3-month working stay in Nepal with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), I went back to Bhutan at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dept. of Tourism, where I was in charge of the French language programme.
  • After that I moved to Laos to take a UNV Programme Officer position where I was in charge of the programme and of 65 national and international UN volunteers in the country.
  • In 2007 I moved to Afghanistan. I first worked for UNFPA conducting a capacity bulding needs assessment and writing a capacity building strategy for the upcoming 2008 Census operation. This was followed by another consultancy assignment with the UN-Habitat Youth Empowerment Project as Youth Training Advisor. I left Afghanistan in April 2008.
  • Between June 2008 and May 2009 I lived once more in Nepal where I did some consultancy work in communication material development (NGOs, UNV, Private Sector) and engaged in Art4D activities with local artists.
  • In May 2009 I travelled to Northern Thailand on the Thai-Burmese border where I assisted a small NGO working with illegal migrants in designing a promotional brochure and where I ran some Art4D activities with migrant children.
  • From June to August 2009 I went to a new territory: Africa. Guinea Bissau was preparing for anticipated presidential elections following the murder of their President in March of the same year. I worked as an adviser to the president of the regional electoral commission of the Sector Auronomous of Bissau, the largest constituency in the country.
