I first went to Nepal in 1999. I am very fond of the country and its people, but it was love at first sight for Kathmandu, and I went back many times. In 2003 I lived in the magic of the city for 3 months. In spite of the political unrest I was savouring every single day. After 5 years, I am finally back for a few months. The civil war has ended and the Maoists have won the recent elections (April 2008), but what is now the "new Nepal" hasn't changed that much yet. Getting rid of the King is not enough... The political situation is still a mess and the people are still waiting for the promised positive changes.
