Smiles & Colors
S & C stands for Smiles and Colors. This voluntary initiative has been supporting Art4D since April 2006.
It all started with the association of two friends who met in Laos, Sonia Josserand-Mercier et Christophe Legeay. Since 2008 Sonia has continued to develop and run small art activities in solo or in cooperation with local artists in various countries.
S & C's primary aim is to bring a touch of color and fun in underprivileged children’s lives, and trigger smiles of happiness and wonder through art-based activities.
In poor countries, underprivileged children are among the poorest. Poor, or minimal education, results in little or inexistent opportunities for intellectual stimulation and free expression. Artistic activities open children’s minds and provide them with new and fun ways of expressing themselves. This brings a colorful and fun touch in their lives and helps further develop their curiosity while contributing to strengthen their self-confidence.
