	Traveling involves meeting lots of people on the way, some of whom will become friends. For some mysterious reason, I often meet artists, mainly painters and photographers or the occasional musician. I engage at times with some of these artists in their efforts to establish links between art and the local community. I also meet people who want to make a difference and get involved with concrete activities. These "doers" either work independently, have set up a small NGO or group, or set up an online facility. Often these initiatives run on a voluntary basis or mobilise volunteers.
